There is a continual occurrence that these outside creature memorial floor sculptures are related to odd containers being filled with creatures and the action of trying to save them. The containers seem to represent "many" and the form of a shoe seems to signify that the Martians lost their base which I think represents loosing there foundation of most all of their creatures when they lost them in extreme antiquity!
