A little bit about me and why I started this website: Marscloseup.com

I am William Furner and years ago I really had a passion for what is on Mars with the various rovers and orbiters I just couldn't resist putting up a website. Basically all I wanted to do was put up amazing photos of what nasa's vehicles (orbiters or rovers) took shots of. 

I didn't realize there was and is a progression of content that they put up in their database. I guess unless you are a fanatic like me, you just think Curiosity is just taking photos of dirt and rock.  But obviously that is not the case as I learned later in collecting photos of mars. 

it really has become a serious passion of mine along side of my obsession with recording  my finger-style guitar music I composed, arranged played and in many cases sung and still sing and play.  That is why I have a section called "Mars Songs" because I love to sing about anything that is important to me.

With me, once I get a serious interest in an endeavor, I do get obsessive about it, I can't just occasionally look at a few photos at the Curiosity database, I have to go over just about each one with the red-orange marker and find a photo that has an obvious artifact in the image. And that is day after day, year after year etc. Being sure never to miss one single day, if I find I run into an emergency and can't get at the Curiosity database that day or evening especially (I am an insomniac) I will take a desktop photo and of the red markers in the database and get to them the next day when I have the chance to look at them.

There is a forum there and a few times I posted my findings from the Curiosity Rover and in some cases posted the songs I would sing such as "The Curious Case Of 64" where I believe there is a Martian tie-in between Lonnie Zamora and Gary Wilcox (you can find out about them at my "Martians" category. To make a long story short I would drop in many photos I thought where earthshaking (mars-shaking). And then have forum members comment on them!

But I realized that the world is not your ouster when it comes to people agreeing there are artifacts, anomalies and sculptures on mars, let alone a complete civilization living under that planet. The heads of Nasa must know there is a civilization, keep very quite about it and just upload amazing things from time to time and let the people decide from the photos. 

So I would drop these carefully selected photos in the Macjams forum and really came up against a block wall. Basically I truly found is that most people don't really want to go through the Curiosity database every day or evening like I do so they just are not going to know what Nasa is doing. So it becomes more of a fight than a pleasure to post at these music forums.  Many of these musicians like my music but the opposite is true when I'm insistent in saying that there are truly anomalies on mars. And now that I look at so many, I OBVIOUSLY know now the Martians are telling stories in their sculptures. 

I understand that now because I am starting to see patterns such as the Martians use of "white" as a verb such as "throwing" etc. often times you will see sculptures of arms, or hands throwing with a strip of "white" around the arm to accent it, that it is in the act of throwing. Or a head with a "white" accent  around the neck for movement to further the story the Martians are trying to convey.

I also realized for quite a while now that Curiosity is in a memorial zone because Martians have thousands upon thousands of segmented sculptures showing, sea creatures, and in many cases very "green" looking that indicates to me  they are not ancient. Also, repetitions of
the way sculpted objects are stacked as if taken from Martians underground cities and carefully placed in areas that once had oceans etc. Paying homage to their lost atmosphere and the loss of their beloved 
animals and creatures.

That is why in my honest opinion you see so many faces of animals and their use of putting faces of various animals and mixing them together in one sculpture in a modern art style which is quite common in the Martian way of sculpturing, Especially in a diorama type of form with the constant, theme of catastrophe.  But I do realize that face of fish can have other meanings and that becomes apparent in the "Startling 5" image for sure!

So often objects are represented as falling from the sky, or hitting the ground (such as the case of "Startling 1" image in the menu above. And  breaking apart the surface of Mars. It is so important when looking at Curiosity images because so VERY much is based on Mars loosing it's atmosphere. 

So gradually I realized Nasa is upping-the-anti in the potency of it's photos !  It really hit home when they uploading the "Startling 5" image about a month ago! Wow! And then I just had to record a song about it:

They (Nasa) actually and truly released a sculpture that talks (in sculpture form) about Martians having to go underground. 
But as I stated in this blog earlier, how is anybody going to know about it unless they study the images. It more than likely will not make sense to them and just like my experience at the Macjams forums I get ridiculed and made fun of. 

So what I am trying to say in this blog "A little bit about me" is that I came to realize that there TRULY is a progression of how nasa is uploading their photos in the Curiosity database.  A few years back they just simply where not as startling as they are now. Now Nasa is making it obvious that they are telling stories of Martian's disaster on how they lost their atmosphere, years ago it was not nearly as blunt as it is now. 

Take a look at most of my "Startling" series descriptions and also look into "Martian Stories" and "More Martian Stories"! You simply would never see that type of fake-rock formations when Curiosity came on the scene  on the first year after it landed on Mars!

If you doubt what I'm saying, just go back to the early Curiosity photos and take a look for yourself!  To make a long story short, it is just mind blowing and amazing what Nasa is releasing. Lets just hope the public is aware of it, because every nation, country or even planet should be aware of other civilization's culture and  artistry to grow creatively as  human beings.  Even if that artistry and culture is on another planet !
